Mi Casa Es Su Casa...

Please step into our new home! We hope you enjoy this virtual tour of our 2007 New Horizons.

We went all out with our design, including a TON of extra options. Most of them were tracked down and ordered from outside vendors. We had a steady stream of interesting things being shipped to Kansas, including EIGHT solar panels, an Onan DIESEL generator (yes diesel!), two 75-gallon fresh water tanks, an F2 Motosat satellite, house style cooktop, stainless steel appliances, custom fixtures, custom carpet, custom fabrics, our own furniture including 2 leather Ekornes chairs with computer tables, and a flat screen Sony TV, installed where Ron can finally see it.

And of course, my carefully designed office. It's compact and functional.

But the best part of all is our custom designed HICKORY interior. Blessings to the artisans at Horizons who so carefully chose each piece of wood for strategic placement of the grain, making the most of the lively attributes of solid Hickory. It's absolutely gorgeous, and even more special to us since it is the first, last, and only time Horizons will use Hickory (at least that's what they told us!). It's just too painstakingly labor intensive, but oh my goodness, how beautifully it turned out.

We love it! Hope you'll enjoy it too...

Here's she is, from stem to stern.

The rear living area, with two wine red leather Ekornes chairs.

Super slide in living room contains loveseat and dinette. Note the wonderful job they did on the dinette. We wanted a solid Hickory leg for it, not a metal one. I tracked down this fabric on the Internet, and we had an the cushions constructed for the dinette and loveseat.

Can you see Rusty under the table? That's one of the reasons we wanted a makes a nice little "cave" for Rusty to curl up in. Plus there's some great storage under the bench seats, but we still have a classy looking dining area.

My sleek little office. Check out the incredible grain designs on these cabinets!

Another angle on the office...

Flat screen Sony is mounted into the wall, but can swivel and tilt for other viewing angles.

View from the living area, through the kitchen and up into the bedroom. That stainless "drawer" under the cooktop area is a super cool little dishwasher.

Side by side refrigerator-freezer and pantry, all adorned in hand crafted Hickory as well.

Looking back from kitchen to living area.

Bathroom area with separate "water closet", washer/dryer, and skylight over the shower and tub. We designed the side angle medicine cabinet to maximize storage, and allow you to see the back of your hair too!

Even the pocket doors between kitchen/bath/bedroom were done with artful care. Love our curved shower with a skylight over it too.

We stretched the bedroom slide to a king, but kept a queen sized bed. This allowed us to have nightstands on each side of the bed, as well as more "walk around" room. Rusty likes having more room to sleep next to the bed at night too. We also did away with the usual "vanity" at the foot of the bed, and had a full wall of cabinets and drawers built instead. Then we put all of our windows over the head of the bed, so I can have all the fresh night air I want!

Here's our bedroom cabinet wall...

Looking from the end of the bedroom by the closets, into the bathroom area. Gotta love this woodwork!

Another gleaming pocket door, between bedroom and bath.

We love our new home, and hope you've enjoyed seeing it too.

It's such a wonderful lifestyle to be able to travel and work from anyplace we want. We simply cannot imagine being anchored down in one place when there are so many incredible places to experience.

See you on the road!
